A filtration-on demand bottle from CamelBak which delivers fresh tasting water with every sip through a sustainable coconut-carbon filter straw. This was the first in a line of lifestyle hydration bottles, an important growth category for the brand.

Podium Bike Bottles

I was tasked with designing and providing direction in the creation of CamelBak’s second generation bike bottles. The need to improve water flow, squeezability, thermal regulation, aesthetics, and cleanability were addressed in this extremely popular product.
The swept forms in the cap drew inspiration from flowing water. Water flow and cleanability were greatly improved over the previous generation bottle.

The Podium Ice line utilizes a proprietary laser weld process to seal a layer of Aerogel insulation between the inner and outer walls, allowing water to stay cool in hot environments.

Forge Travel Mug
Design direction
I guided the industrial design team in the development of CamelBak’s first hot container. Innovations include the first push-button auto-seal valve that can be fully exposed for cleaning, and an aroma chamber for the nose to replicate the coffee mug drinking experience.

A secondary button above the valve button allowed partial venting to let hot drinks cool to a comfortable temperature. The valve assembly could be easily exposed for cleaning by fully depressing the lever with the cap off the bottle.
