CamelBak | Hydration Packs
Design direction | Design lead
CamelBak customers are passionate about the brand and it was my team’s responsibility to continue to evolve the line through innovations in function, fit, style, and technical construction.
N.V.I.S. Backpanel
The second generation N.V.I.S ventilated backpanel is featured on CamelBak’s high end mountain bike and hike collections, and features independent articulating vent pods for better fit and stability while keeping the user cool.

Backpack Categories
Collection images of the recreational pack categories which were redesigned every other year, with colorway changes applied each season. I provided the design of the silhouettes, graphic patterns, and hardware. Spec packages were sent to suppliers in the Philippines, Vietnam, and China which I would visit two to four times a year for development purposes.

Research
As part of my role, I would travel to international trade shows and retail hubs to research trends, undergo field testing and help identify new opportunities.

To provide design direction for the rest of the team, I created a series of design language guides.

Impact Protection Backpack
Design and Innovation Award - Gold 2015 - ENDURO Mountain Bike Magazine
I led development on CamelBak’s first generation integrated spine protective backpack for downhill and enduro mountain biking, named the K.U.D.U. after the African antelope (I also named it). I traveled to Austria to work directly with Komperdell in developing the CE Level-2 spine protective insert, and provided design direction for the backpack component.
