Designed for the most challenging alpine expeditions, the Pro Series packs were developed with feedback from professional climbing guides. Innovations include a hybrid woven composite + aluminum internal frame and multi position fine tuning.
For research and testing, I climbed Mt. Rainier with famed climbers Peter Whittaker and Melissa Arnot.

I designed the next generation of JanSport’s laptop impact protection material for use inside backpack laptop sleeves. The unique dual durometer internal support and cellular construction provided superior protection for valuable electronics.

Designed for the 8000m Challenge endurance race in California which puts racers on a trek to summit Mt. Baldy (Mt. San Antonio), Mt. San Gorgonio, and Mt. San Jacinto in a single day.

Backpacker Magazine’s Zero Impact Challenge
The Leandro ultralight pack concept was featured in Backpacker Magazine’s Zero Impact Challenge. The aim was to create a production-ready prototype of a hiking backpack with the lowest possible carbon footprint. Our prototype utilized recycled polyester body fabric, PLA corn-based hardware and structural panel, and recycled and bio-based foams.
Nautica Travel
A joint project between JanSport development and Nautica, both VF Corp. brands, I was the lead designer for Nautica’s first luggage line. Inspired by nautical themes, trims and fabrics, I worked directly with their product team in Manhattan and reviewed concepts directly with Nautica founder, David Chu.
